K’urt had left abruptly after she realized who he was, saying he needed to appeal something. Being left alone after such a revelation hurt, but this was gut wrenching fear.

The ever-present Hellhound whimpered, extended fingers from his right paw batting at his chest.

Was the Hellhound feeling the same emotion she was? How? Where was it coming from?

An image of K’urt’s pained face appeared in her mind, as vivid as if he were in the room with her. His shock was directed at another Korthan, an older man she couldn’t quite make out his features. Was this her imagination or was it happening real time?

The contorted look on K’urt’s face conveyed as much horror as the emotion. Stars, was the emotion coming from him? How could she be feeling what his face suggested he felt? How was she seeing his face to begin with?

The words ‘Death’ and ‘Death sentence’ filled her ears. Whose death?

Knees buckling, the Hellhound whimpered again as her vision filled with flashing spots, completely blacking out as she hit the cold floor.
